Mental Health Awareness

For Charlotte's Mitzvah project, she wanted to raise money for mental health awareness by selling bracelets and donating to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Charlotte: “In September 2023 a friend from my summer camp took her life. She was a strong member of our camp community and such a bright soul. We were all shocked to hear the news because she hid her struggles from so many. I learned that this is common for people who suffer with mental illness because many teens hide their pain because of shame. I want to help build awareness and reduce the stigma. No one should suffer in silence. I designed bracelets that say - “U R Loved” as a constant reminder to everyone that someone loves you and to ask for help.”

To support Charlotte’s Mitzvah Project you can purchase U R Loved bracelets for $18 here! All proceeds go directly to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

In addition Charlotte, along with her Temple Emanu-El Bat Mitzvah class, has donated $1000 from her bat mitzvah gifts towards a mini ambulance for United Hatzalah of Israel.
